How to Install and Configure Citrix StoreFront 3.5


This guide is intended to outline the steps necessary to install and configure Citrix StoreFront 3.5.


The server used in this guide is a virtual machine running in VMWare Workstation 12 with the following specifications:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
  • 2GB RAM
  • 60GB vDisk
  • 1 vCPU dual core
  • 1 vNIC (NAT)

Installation Steps

StoreFront Install

Insert the installation media and click on Citrix StoreFront

License Agreement

Accept the license agreement and click Next

Install Location

Change the installation location if necessary and click Next

Firewall Settings

Review the firewall settings and click Next

Install Summary

Review the summary and click Install


Prerequisites and core components will be installed

All Done

Ensure Open the StoreFront Management Console is checked and click Finish

StoreFront Management Console

The StoreFront Management Console will open, click on Create New Deployment

Base URL

Type in the base URL and click Next

Creating the Deployment

The deployment will be created

Getting Started

Click Next

Setting the Store

Type in the name for the store and set the default website for IIS to the Receiver for Website, click Next

Adding Delivery Controllers

Click the Add button to add Delivery Controllers

Delivery Controller Information

Enter in the information for the Delivery Controller such as Display Name, FQDN, and the Transport Type, click OK

For this guide HTTP is being used as SSL is not being used

Delivery Controller Added

Once the Delivery Controller has been added click Next

Remote Access

Configure the remote access settings and click Next

For this guide we are not enabling remote access as this is a lab, however, in production this will more than likely be enabled and Citrix NetScaler will be deployed but this is outside the scope of this guide

Authentication Methods

Setup the Authentication Methods and click Next

For this guide the first 2 should be checked

PNAgent Configuration

If the environment will require the PNAgent, ensure these two options are checked and click Create

Store Creation

The store will be created

All Done

Once complete click Finish

Management Console

The StoreFront Management Console shows the store as configured

StoreFront Login

Open a browser and head to the URL created in step 9, the login page should appear, enter in credentials and click Logon

StoreFront Interface

Once logged in available applications and desktops will appear

For this guide apps and desktops have not been configured yet so nothing will appear
